With three weeks to go before Hollywood's biggest night, Oscar is hitting the road!

The sought-after statuette is weaving his way across the country on a 21-day journey to give movie fans the opportunity to see the coveted prize up close and snap a personal picture.

Oscar's trip kicked off with an event in New York City this week, where he hobnobbed with members of the press and laid out all the details of the trip's itinerary.

And what kind of road trip would it be without some comic relief? Oscar will be accompanied by Oscar ambassadors Ben Gleib and Angie Greenup, who will be snapping photos, taking videos and writing blogs for the entire journey.

So is the team ready for the road?

“I’m a Diet Coke addict, so as long as we are stocked up, I’m ready to go!” Greenup told us at the kick-off event.

“The most important part of a trip is the clothes right?” asked Gleib. “And thanks to JC Penney who gave us over 21 different outfits, our wardrobe is all set."

Want Oscar and the team to make a detour? You decide! Via Facebook and Twitter (@OscarRoadtrip), fans get a chance to take the reins and determine where the team should make pit stops. Plus, Oscar will be making its way to some of the most famous and memorable movie locations.

“Today, we're at the famous Katz's Deli from ‘When Harry Met Sally.’ The 'Rocky' steps in Philly are a possibility,” added Greenup. “It’s up to you!”

Along the way, the team will be handing out tickets to a lucky few for the “Ultimate Oscar Experience,” where recipients will help welcome Oscar home on the red carpet at the 85th Annual Academy Awards.
