Hot Celebrity Bodies Shaped by Yoga

Hot Celebrity Bodies Shaped by Yoga

More than 20 million Americans practice yoga, and we're willing to bet that a few of our favorite celebrities are counted among those numbers. Fox News Magazine set out to find which of our favorite stars get their hot bodies by saying "om."

Gisele Bündchen, the most famous supermodel in the world, told Vogue magazine that after giving birth, she regained her figure with nothing more than a yoga mat. Yoga is known to elongate and tone the muscles, and Gisele's perfectly-sculpted body makes her a poster girl for the practice.

Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams’ seductive curves can be credited to genetics … and yoga. In 2011, the beauty co-founded the "Yoga for Single Moms Project," which provides single parents with free yoga classes along with simultaneous childcare, making Williams that much more beautiful in our eyes.

Adam Levine

Adam Levine is so into yoga that he has a personal instructor travel the world with him and his band, Maroon 5. Yoga has “totally changed my body,” Levine told Details magazine in December 2011. "When I started practicing, I instantly felt more sculpted. Yoga carves you into a different person and that is satisfying physically." Trust us, Adam — you’re not the only person satisfied by your yogalicious body.

Lady Gaga

Not everyone can run around in leotards and transparent bodysuits all day; Lady Gaga’s pop star figure can be credited to Bikram's 90 degrees of heat, sweat and yoga poses.

Madonna

Of course the queen of pop practices yoga! When you’re over 50 and have the body of a 20-year-old, you must be drinking from the fountain of yogi-youth. Ashtanga, her favorite style, encourages more dynamic and cardio-driven movements (perhaps explaining her incredible acrobatic abilities on stage).

The star praised the practice, saying, “Yoga is a metaphor for life. You have to take it really slowly. You can’t rush. You can’t skip the next position. You find yourself in very humiliating situations, but you can’t judge yourself. You just have to breathe, and let go. It is a workout for your mind, you body and your soul.” Namaste to that — and to Madonna’s body.

Bethenny Frankel

To complement her Skinnygirl products, Bethenny Frankel came out with a DVD called “Bethenny’s Skinnygirl Workout.” In the video, you’ll find 15-minute power yoga sessions that are perfect for women living on-the-go lifestyles. Follow along, and you’ll have a Skinnygirl body before you know it.

Julianne Moore

If you hate the gym, join Julianne Moore at yoga class. In 2011, the actress told Health magazine that she’s a fan of the practice because “it doesn’t feel like the agony of the gym.”

Jennifer Aniston

Aniston has a deep appreciation for yoga and continually credits her youthful figure to the practice. The actress told the world that yoga “completely changed my life,” and is “one of the most fun workouts I’ve ever had.” Mandy Ingber, Aniston’s trusted instructor and close friend, developed a video featuring Aniston and her yoga routine. If her body doesn’t sell the practice, we’re not sure whose will!

Anna Paquin

In 2011, “True Blood” star Anna Paquin told Health magazine that “being naked at work” is the best motivation for staying in shape. So how does she do it? Yoga Barre is her method of choice, and she describes the workout as being “like the Bar Method, but it’s, like, 105 degrees. It’s psycho, but kind of awesome. You sort of want to die immediately.”

Kelly Bensimon

On her blog, the “Real Housewives of New York City” reality star wrote that “Part of being healthful is aligning your body and spirit.” She encourages her fans to try yoga and regularly incorporates poses such as Downward Dog and Bridge into her everyday workout routines.
