Miranda Lambert’s Weight Loss Plan Revealed
When country crooner Miranda Lambert appeared at the 47th Annual Country Music Association Awards earlier this month, she had all eyes on her — and it wasn’t just because of her daring, low-cut ensemble.
The 30-year-old singer showed off a slimmer figure that had everyone wondering what her secret was. Finally, Lambert is dishing.
“People think I lost more, but I’m short,” explains Lambert to PEOPLE. “I’m only 5’4” so when I gain, I gain everywhere and when I lose, I lose everywhere.”
So how did Lambert drop an entire dress size? For starters, she credits store-bought pressed juice in the morning for a healthier breakfast. “I don’t do the juicer myself because I hate to clean it,” she tells the magazine. “It’s a mess and I’m not that disciplined!” As for her other meals, Lambert insists she doesn’t starve herself, but instead, “I try to just cut everything in half.”
To obtain maximum weight loss results, Lambert does incorporate daily exercise with the help of a trainer, but she keeps the workout routines basic. “We do cardio, a lot of circuit training,” says Lambert. “We do things with my body weight, like lunges. A lot of stuff with (resistance) bands. The stuff nobody loves, but it works!”
While Lambert does admit to tossing aside fast food and Cheetos, there’s one thing she won’t give up.
“I didn’t give up drinking,” says Lambert. “I refused. You have to drink to put up with my husband! Just kidding!”
And speaking of her beau, 37-year-old Blake Shelton, Lambert also says it’s important to have someone cheering you on along the way.
“He said, ‘I have never had a problem with any way you look at any point–you are beautiful to me at any size and every size,” she explains. “But he has been proud of my hard work on this. He brags on me. That makes me feel great.”
