We Tried It: Grilled Cheese Toaster Bags

If you’re a grilled cheese lover like me, Toastabags are a real game changer.

Simply put your grilled cheese sandwich into one of the bags, pop it in your toaster and enjoy a perfectly melted, golden-brown grilled cheese. Use it at home to avoid a big clean up or at the office when you don't have access to a grill.

Toastabags are made by a Dutch company called Boska, whose mission is to “inspire you on your trip through the finest cheeses of the world.” Inspired, I am. I plan on making plenty more grilled cheese sandwiches in my toaster.

Here’s how to use these reusable, dishwasher-safe bags:

Step 1

Prepare your grilled cheese sandwich as usual and place it inside a Toastabag. For me, “as usual” means loading on the butter. I was a little concerned this would translate into a greasy mess, but I didn’t hold back.

Step 2

Place it, with the opening facing upwards, in your toaster.

Step 3

Switch the toaster on and your grilled cheese sandwich will be ready in less than three minutes. My sandwich took 60 seconds and came out perfectly toasted — with just a bit of grease.
