The Date Nighter: 'Frankenweenie' Movie Review
Halloween is right around the corner, and there’s no better way for you and your date to get into the holiday spirit than by watching a good old fashioned Frankenstein-esque flick … with a Tim Burton twist.
‘Frankenweenie’ is an animated black-and-white film that follows the story of Victor Frankenstein (voiced by Charlie Tahan) and his beloved dog Sparky. After Sparky’s tragic death, Victor harnesses the power of science to try to bring his best friend back to life.
Of course, when you mess around with Mother Nature, things are bound to get … messy.
What follows is a fun-filled adventure with nods to the horror genre’s most famous characters, some of which are voiced by Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara and Martin Landau.
The Date Nighter Says: Go see it! It’s a fun, fresh take on a classic. Avoid the 3D version and use the money to buy some costumes before the show … it’s not lame, it's HALLOWEEN!
